Your Google Business Profile is the listing customers see on Google Search and Maps. These guides show how to keep it in your control, keep it accurate, handle reviews and suspensions, and read its numbers honestly.

## Profile management guides

- [Google Business Profile Ownership, Access, and Verification](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/ownership-and-access.md): Keep your business in control of its profile: individual logins, the right roles, secure verification, written consent, and a clean handoff when a provider leaves.
- [Google Business Profile Accuracy, Eligibility, and Business Information](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/profile-accuracy.md): Keep an eligible profile with your real business name, an honest location or service area, specific categories, current hours, and working links.
- [Google Business Profile Reviews and Responsible Responses](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/reviews-and-responses.md): Ask every customer for a review the same way, reply carefully and privately where needed, learn from feedback, and report only reviews that break Google's rules.
- [Google Business Profile Photos, Posts, and Customer Actions](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/photos-posts-and-customer-actions.md): Post honest, current photos and updates, know what Google controls about display, and test the call, booking, directions, and website buttons like a customer would.
- [Google Business Profile Monitoring, Measurement, and Recovery](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/monitoring-and-measurement.md): Check your profile on a schedule, read performance numbers carefully, and fix the problem before appealing a suspension or restriction.
- [Google Business Profile Suspensions, Reinstatement, and Spam Reporting](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/suspensions-reinstatement-and-spam.md): Understand why profiles get suspended, how to appeal with the right proof, why a duplicate profile makes things worse, and how to report fake or keyword-stuffed competitor listings.
- [Service-Area, Practitioner, and Multi-Location Google Business Profiles](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/google-business-profile/service-area-practitioner-and-multi-location-profiles.md): Set up the right kind of profile if you work from home, are an individual professional like a lawyer or agent, or run more than one location.

## Non-negotiables

- The business keeps ownership. Outside help works as a manager; passwords, verification codes, and owner control stay with the business.
- Names, categories, locations, hours, services, photos, posts, and review replies should be current and approved by the owner.
- Google controls eligibility, verification methods, available features, how content is shown, moderation, restrictions, appeals, and ranking. Careful management reduces avoidable problems, but it cannot guarantee verification, ranking, review removal, reinstatement, calls, or revenue.

## Third-party transparency

Google Business Profile is available from Google at no charge. Any Vassal Marketing fee covers agreed management work, not access to the profile itself. You should know who can access your profile, what will change, and how results are reported. Google's third-party policies say that within seven business days of your request, a provider must let you remove it and regain exclusive control. Read [Google's guidance for working with a third party](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7163406) and the [Business Profile third-party policies](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7353941).

## Companion checklist

Use the [Google Business Profile checklist](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/resources/google-business-profile-checklist.md) to review access, accuracy, reviews, upkeep, and measurement in one pass. For local signals beyond your profile, such as your website, directories, and Apple and Bing listings, see the [local SEO guide](https://vassalmarketing.com/information/local-seo.md).
